What we collect: Your email (for login), your learning progress (vocab bank, mastery scores), any essays you save in Essay Cloze so they sync across your devices, and your supporter status if you buy VanVocab a coffee.
How we store it: On Supabase (encrypted at rest, EU/Singapore servers). Your password is hashed — we cannot see it.
What we don't do: No ads, no third-party trackers, no selling your data. We don't read your custom vocab to train any AI.
Your rights: Click Delete account anytime — all your data is removed within 24 hours. Email [email protected] for any concerns.
Payments: Lemon Squeezy (our Merchant of Record) handles all payment data. We only receive your license key.

1. The service. VanVocab is a digital vocabulary notebook for English learners. It's a single-page web app at vanvocab.com, operated by an independent developer based in Vietnam.
2. Free for everyone. Every feature of VanVocab — the full word list, your word bank, spaced-repetition review, practice games, cloze practice, printing and cloud sync — is free, with no limits and no advertising.
3. Supporting VanVocab. If you wish, you can make an optional one-off contribution of $1.99 (the "Supporter" purchase). It adds a supporter badge to your account and helps pay for hosting; it does not unlock extra features, and there is no subscription or renewal. You may contribute as many times as you wish — each contribution is a separate one-off payment. Anyone who bought a Pro plan before September 2026 keeps supporter status.
4. Your account. You're responsible for keeping your password safe. Don't share your login. We can suspend accounts that abuse the service (e.g. bulk scraping, sharing one license across many people).
5. Your data. Your vocabulary, practice history, and progress belong to you. You can export or delete them anytime. See our Privacy Policy for details.
6. Acceptable use. Don't try to break the app, scrape it at scale, or use it to harm others. Don't upload illegal content via the custom-word feature.
7. Content. The 6 Minute English transcripts and vocabulary on the Listen tab come from BBC Learning English and are used for educational quoting/learning purposes. We don't own that content. All other app code, design, and curated vocabulary entries belong to VanVocab.
8. No warranty. VanVocab is provided "as is". We do our best to keep it online and accurate, but we can't promise zero downtime or zero bugs.
9. Liability. Our maximum liability to you is limited to the amount you've paid us in the last 12 months. We aren't responsible for indirect damages.
10. Changes. We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced via the in-app account menu and the last-updated date below.

We want you to be happy with VanVocab. Here's how refunds work — short and clear:
3-day money back. The Supporter contribution can be refunded within 3 days of purchase, no questions asked. Just email [email protected] with your order number.
After 3 days. The contribution is final and non-refundable. It is a one-off payment — there is no subscription and nothing renews.
How we handle refunds. Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy as our Merchant of Record. Once approved, your refund returns to the original payment method, usually within 5–10 business days.
